GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Reporting to our Director of Development & Community Engagement, the Institutional Giving Manager coordinates and manages the proposal generation and grant life cycle including research, grant writing, grant program design and implementation, compliance and grant reporting.  In addition, the Institutional Giving Manager works closely with the Director of Development and Community Engagement to implement a strategic approach to engage corporate, community and individual prospects for the agency’s fundraising priorities. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Corporate and Foundation Relations: Oversee Minuteman’s applications and relations with local family and corporate charitable foundations.

  • Identify and develop strategies, priorities, and calendar for funding proposals and applications for charitable foundations, corporate charitable funds, and other similar sources to fund various current and future initiatives. 
    • Write and submit funding proposals, reports and other ancillary materials
    • Develop and manage relationships with grantors and institutional funders
    • Promote and coordinate site visits and other stewardship or cultivation meetings
    • Collaborate with the finance department to develop grant specific budgets
    • Prepare reports on grant outputs and outcomes; coordinate input from program managers and meet deadlines from funders.
    • Research and engage new foundations and corporate supporters
  • Work cross-departmentally to develop, promote, and implement donor benefits.
  • Monitor and analyze trends and developments in corporate relations and grant writing landscape to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Other Marketing and Fundraising Responsibilities: Support other marketing, events, public relations and fundraising projects

  • Ensure corporate and foundation supporters are publicly recognized in accordance with their current and potential future level of support
  • Support annual fundraising and community events.
  •  Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment with overall corporate and proposal-writing strategies.
  • Additional projects as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of professional experience preferred, or 4 years of applicable experience.
  • Previous experience writing and managing grants or communications for a nonprofit organization
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other available tools.
  • Familiarity with budgets.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and/or other data management programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support the preparation and implementation of grant proposals and corporate sponsorships
