CAMERA seeks a full-time strategic, creative, and mission-driven Director of Development & Fundraising to lead our national development and fundraising efforts. The Director is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports to the CEO, develops and implements the organization’s donor development and fundraising strategy, and manages its team of fundraising professionals.
The ideal candidate is an experienced nonprofit fundraising professional who is an informed and committed Zionist, believes deeply in our mission, and is prepared to advocate for it and CAMERA publicly and professionally.
Strong preference will be given to candidates who live in or are willing to relocate to the Boston area.
Founded more than 45 years ago, CAMERA is the leading organization exposing and countering anti-Israel narratives in the media, online, and in schools. We correct falsehoods and distortions in the legacy media, expose disinformation on social media and other digital platforms, tackle antisemitism in K-12 education, support pro-Israel students on college campuses, and challenge anti-Israel campaigns targeting Evangelical Christian churches and communities.
With offices in Boston, Massachusetts and Jerusalem, Israel, and staff working virtually across the United States and United Kingdom, we operate at the forefront of the information battlefield to expose bias and promote truth, in turn strengthening support for Israel worldwide. CAMERA's mission and work have never been more important.
With an annual operating budget of approximately $10 million and a strong national and international presence, we are expanding our development capacity to deepen donor engagement, broaden our base of support, and increase revenue.
The Director of Development & Fundraising is a senior leadership role responsible for designing, executing, and scaling a comprehensive national fundraising strategy. This individual will lead and manage a geographically distributed fundraising team across key markets, including New York, Florida, California, and Boston, while also evaluating expansion into additional regions.
The Director will play a central role in cultivating major donor relationships, identify new potential major donors, grow the organization’s donor base, maintain donor involvement and enthusiasm, ensuring excellence in all aspects of development operations, and achieving fundraising goals. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align development and fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and growth objectives.
Strong preference for candidates based in the Boston area or willing to relocate. (CAMERA’s headquarters is in the Boston area.) Will consider remote work for the right applicant if he/she does not live in the Boston area.
Staff in the Boston and Jerusalem areas work on hybrid schedules. Staff elsewhere in the United States, Israel, and United Kingdom work remotely.
Salary range of $160,000 - $220,000, commensurate with the qualifications and experience. Final salary will in part reflect whether the successful applicant works on a hybrid schedule in CAMERA’s headquarters in the Boston area, or remotely.
