Position Summary:
The Director of Family and Alumni Engagement leads the strategy and execution of programs designed to build community and a complete culture of giving with Carroll School families and alumni. This position reports to the Executive Director of Advancement and is a key member of a high performing seven person Advancement team. They are responsible for the full lifecycle of engagement events and communications, collaborating with colleagues, school leaders, and volunteers to set strategy, while also being the primary person responsible for logistics and manual work. They will lead with positivity and optimism and ensure that every engagement initiative is inclusive and aligned with achieving Carroll’s giving goals.
Responsibilities:
- Events
- Plan and execute a robust calendar of signature annual events that build relationships and reinforce belonging with Carroll families and alumni
- Provide operational leadership for donor stewardship and campaign events
- Create and maintain dashboards to measure events effectiveness against team goals
- Volunteer management
- Serve as strategic and operational liaison to the Carroll Family Association and Alumni Council
- Grow and track our portfolio of volunteer opportunities for families and alumni
- Communications
- In partnership with other internal stakeholders, drive alumni engagement by producing compelling, accessible content across multiple channels, including social media
- Utilize email marketing platform to send event invitations and newsletters
- Design systems for collecting and maintaining accurate constituent and engagement records and utilize data to strengthen outreach and participation
- Fundraising and Stewardship
- Partner closely with the Director of Annual Giving & Donor Relations and the Director of Leadership Giving to ensure engagement efforts are integrated with giving and stewardship initiatives
- Act as an advocate for Carroll’s culture of giving by building and sustaining meaningful relationships with families, alumni, and donors through personal outreach and face to face engagement
- Community
- Represent the Advancement team at key school events and other community activities
- Act as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador for the school’s mission, vision and strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, plus 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Confident communicator who can manage expectations of diverse stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial and resilient, willing to try new things and take on challenges
- Excitement to work on a small, flexible, hands-on team
- Appreciation for Carroll’s mission and desire to be part of the community
- Willingness to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites
- Experience working in constituent databases
Salary Range $88,000-100,000
Exacted salary offered is dependent on educational credentials and years of experience.
