Since 1985, BHCHP’s mission has been to ensure unconditionally equitable and dignified access to the highest quality health care for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. 

Position Overview:
We seek a results-oriented Individual Giving Manager to grow our fundraising and engagement strategies for individual mid-level donors. The Individual Giving Manager will focus on expanding our base of individual donors giving under $10,000 annually. They will develop and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, will be responsible for stewardship efforts and create meaningful donor engagement.

Responsibilities:

Appeals & Individual Fundraising
  • Grow a portfolio of individuals donors who contribute gifts under $10,000 annually;
  • Collaborate with the Communications Team and Development Team to execute annual giving appeals;
  • Implement the production schedule for fundraising campaigns;
  • Write compelling content and design multimedia engagements;
  • Work with the Director of Major Gifts and Special Events Manager to plan new fundraising strategies and leverage existing events to increase mid-level donor engagement;
  • Identify opportunities to solicit individual donations before, during, and after events; 
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
  • Serve as point of contact for ELB leadership to increase involvement of a diverse group of young professionals in the Greater Boston area;
  • Oversee BHCHP’s Boston Marathon program, including leading recruitment of runners, runner and donor engagement;
  • Set relevant goals for Emerging Leaders Program;
  • Conduct personal outreach with prospective, new, and existing donors;
  • Coordinate outreach to lapsed donors for renewed support;
  • Engage with community groups; and
  • Collaborate with the Director of Major Gifts to identify and cultivate mid-level donors.

Reporting & Data Management
  • Utilize BHCHP’s database platform to track donor information;
  • Monitor annual performance benchmarks;
  • Assist in monitoring the performance of individual giving strategies; and
  • Leverage donor data to create targeted strategies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 3 years of donor-facing experience

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven track record of engaging donors;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills with a comfort level with public speaking;
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple co-occurring projects;
  • Discretion around handling of confidential donor information;
  • Proficient in Raisers Edge, Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; 
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $60,000 - 96,000 annually, based on experience.
