Sacred Threads is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening women’s spiritual connections and sense of meaning across all of life’s seasons. Founded in 2009, we create welcoming, inclusive offerings where women can explore their spirituality, come together, and find connection and support. Sacred Threads serves women of diverse faith traditions and spiritual journeys.

The ED is responsible for overall organizational leadership, fundraising, and operational management. The ED reports to the Board Directors and works with the Board to execute Sacred Threads’ mission and strengthen its financial sustainability.

The selected Executive Director (ED) joins Sacred Threads at an exciting inflexion point. With a professionalized staff, a clear calendar of offerings, and a strong predecessor in the role, a foundation is in place to bring Sacred Threads to the next level. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance (15%-20%)

  • With the Board, help develop Sacred Threads’ strategic plan. Implement the operations that are in the strategic plan.
  • Translate strategic priorities in clear goals, benchmarks, and dashboards
  • Recruit and support volunteers and board members to implement Communications, Programs, Fundraising, Financial Management
  • Attend monthly Board meetings and provide an Executive Director’s report on financial performance, organizational activities, and fundraising progress

Fundraising & Donor Relations (50%)

  • Partner with the Board to develop fundraising strategies and goals. Staff the Fundraising Committee and engage a committed Board to use their networks to raise funds
  • Take the lead on executing fundraising strategies, including grants, donor cultivation, the annual appeal, and fund raising events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and partners
  • Coordinate donor recognition and ensure transparent stewardship of funds

Financial Management (15%-20%)

  • Develop and manage the annual budget
  • Oversee bookkeeping, reporting, and fiscal accountability
  • Monitor and ensure the financial health of the organization

Administrative & Operational Oversight (15%)

  • Lead and coach staff (2 part time) who manage offerings and communications to ensure alignment with mission and revenue development.
  • Manage administrative processes, including HR policies and office systems.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, grant requirements, and legal filings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven setting
  • Experience with program management, staff oversight, and nonprofit operations
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable with budgeting, financial monitoring, and administrative functions
  • A demonstrated interest in spirituality, a possible background in theological studies, and an appreciation for diverse spiritual traditions and journeys

Hours: 20 hours a week

Compensation: $40,000.00 annually

Benefits: 3 weeks paid time off
