Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) is seeking a Development Assistant to provide critical support to CLF’s comprehensive development program. The Development Assistant is an integral member of the development team, working collaboratively with staff across major gifts, individual giving, research, foundation relations and events staff. The Development Assistant reports to the Senior Director of Development Operations. This is a full-time non-exempt position based in Boston, MA with some opportunity for remote work.

 

 

What you’ll do

 

The Development Assistant will be a key player in helping us achieve our mission. You will:

 

  • Record all gifts in the Raiser’s Edge database in an accurate and timely manner and communicate gifts received to key internal stakeholders;
  • Print, assemble, and mail acknowledgment letters, including tracking the status of hand-signed letters to ensure timely review, signature, and mailing;
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in donor data and gift records, including updating biographical information in the database and assisting with other data entry and database clean-up projects;
  • Provide outstanding customer service in response to phone and email inquiries received by the development office; support staff and donors as they interact with the department; prepare donor communications as needed;
  • Maintain a log of checks received and collaborate with members of the finance department on check processing and gift entry;
  • Coordinate in-house production and mailing of solicitation letters and other materials;
  • Serve as a liaison between the development department and staff in other states on administrative and development-related matters;
  • Support the development team with administrative tasks and special projects, including scheduling team meetings and planning team retreats;
  • Perform other duties as

 

What you’ll need

 

  • Superior attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, and organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Experience and a high degree of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with fundraising and communications databases is a plus, but not required;
  • Ability to take initiative, solve problems, assess priorities, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Enthusiasm for environmental issues and/or a background in environmental studies or advocacy is a plus;
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Salary and Benefits

 

CLF offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits plan, and an open, inclusive, and accepting work environment where differences are highly respected. The starting salary range for the position is $56,000 - $60,500.

 

Placement within the salary range will be determined by relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with significant consideration given to internal pay equity.
