Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven gift planning professional ready to help shape the future of one of the nation's great research universities.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Gift Planning, the Senior Associate Director will serve as a charitable gift planning advisor to the Dartmouth community, including donors, prospective donors and Development staff. As Dartmouth prepares for its next capital campaign, this position will build on the Gift Planning program's strong foundation and partner closely with alumni, trustees, and other members of the Dartmouth family to grow outright gifts, bequests, life income gifts, and other creative forms of estate planned giving.
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree and eight-plus years of experience in planned giving, law, development, financial services, or the equivalent (professional experience and relevant advanced education may be combined). An advanced degree in a related field (business administration, tax, or law) or a professional designation (CPA, CFA, securities license) is a strong plus. We're looking for someone with a genuine appetite for mastering the tax, investment, and legal dimensions of charitable giving; outstanding written and verbal communication skills and a polished presence in front of a room; sharp negotiation and interpersonal instincts; the confidence to work independently paired with real team spirit; and strong project management, organizational, and strategic thinking abilities. Familiarity with PG Calc planned gift software is a plus.
This role offers the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement, with a preference for candidates willing to travel to the Hanover campus at least quarterly, plus travel to visit prospects.
